Discover the Genius of Steve Jobs, and Over a Dozen Anime Films, on the Big Screen at the MFAH

Film highlights at the MFAH this summer include a documentary that explores the genius of the late Steve Jobs, as well as a charming series of Japanese anime films.

Steve Jobs: The Lost Interview (directed by Paul Sen, USA, 2011, 70 min.) shows the tech genius at his most charismatic. Variety raved that “the documentary shows Jobs, as always, ahead of his time: Extremely keen on the Internet, whose social impact in 1995 was then barely being felt, the mogul correctly predicts the Web will be the ‘defining technology and social element’ of the future.”

The film screens Thursdays, July 5 and 12 at 7 p.m.; and Saturdays, July 7 at 5 and 7 p.m., July 14 at 5 p.m. and July 21 at 5 p.m.

The nationally touring Studio Ghibli retrospective, Castles in the Sky: Miyazaki, Takahata, & the Masters of Studio Ghibli, is sure to delight and inspire audiences of all ages.Throughout July and August the MFAH presents 13 timeless Japanese anime in newly struck 35mm prints, from classics such as Princess Mononoke, Spirited Away and My Neighbor Totoro to more rarely-seen movies.
