IHS to Sponsor Summer NAPE 2011 E&P Forum, August 17 in Houston

Industry leaders and analysts to discuss key plays, industry trends, policy impacts, technology enhancements, and the economic significance of the US oil and gas industry

HOUSTON (July 22, 2011) – IHS Inc. (NYSE: IHS), the leading global source of information and analysis, will sponsor the Summer NAPE® 2011 E&P forum Wednesday, August 17 in Houston, which will bring together E&P (exploration and production) executives to address the characteristics of a great play, and to provide a detailed look at major unconventional plays, as well as the technologies aiding their successes.

In addition, the forum will explore the economic impact of the industry in the U.S., policy issues impacting the industry, and balancing safety with production, job creation and revenue generation both onshore and in the Gulf of Mexico.

The forum will be held in the Grand Ballroom (fourth floor) at the Hilton of the Americas Hotel, 1600 Lamar St., (adjacent to the George R. Brown Convention Center). Pete Stark Ph.D., vice president, industry relations for IHS CERA, will moderate the forum entitled, “Independent Thinking – Impact on America’s Energy Future.”

The Summer NAPE 2011 E&P Forum is the kick-off event for the Summer NAPE 2011 Expo, August 18 - 19, the world’s largest marketplace for oil and gas prospects, and a networking event that is expected to draw approximately 8,000 attendees.
