Nature Unique - Fire Fall ![]() 圖一:Yosemite Icon: shutter speed 1/250 sec., aperture value f/11, speed ratings ISO 100 camera Canon EOS 5D Mark II Lens Canon EF 28-300mm f/3.5-5.6 L IS USM I photographed ‘Bright Horsetail Fall‘ in the late afternoon with strong lights behind the cantle of saddle. One of my favorite quotes is: “My first thought is always of light” by Galen Rowell, who made the Horsetail Fall famous with his photography of fire fall in 1973 ![]() 圖二:Bright Horsetail Fall: 1/500 sec., f/8, ISO 320 camera Canon EOS 5D Mark II Lens Canon EF 28-300mm f/3.5-5.6 L IS USM ![]() 圖二A: In February at Yosemite Valley, it is common that the sky is too cloudy to block the sunlight. When sunset approaches, I tilt my camera and photograph this ‘Dull Horsetail Fall’ on a cloudy day, creating an image that shows the horse’s head down, and that it is time to relax. As Ansel Adams quotes: “Photography is more than a medium for factual communication of ideas. It is a creative art”. ![]() 圖三:Dull Horsetail Fall: I/60 sec., f/7, ISO 800 camera Canon EOS 5D Mark II Lens Canon EF 28-300mm f/3.5-5.6 L IS USM Tripod Gitzo GT1541T with Acratech ballhead
Fire fall only happens when water is sufficient to form a fall and when the light is available at the right time and right place. You might just see it if you are in Yosemite at the perfect time and location. ![]() 圖四:Dyed Pink Horsetail Fall: 1/20 sec., f/8, ISO 400 photograph on February 22, 2011, 5:45 PM camera Canon EOS 5D Mark II Lens Canon EF 28-300mm f/3.5-5.6 L IS USM Tripod Gitzo GT1541T with Acratech ballhead (攝影作品與文稿由黃錦波提供) ( 回首頁 Houston eWIND ) | . |
