It is my great pleasure to be here with you all tonight.
Thank you so much for joining us for this lovely CACA holiday dinner. I hope that you all are having as wonderful time as I am.

Tonight, it is my great honor to introduce an outstanding honoree:
Director General of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Houston, the Consulate of Republic of China in Taiwan, Mr. Joseph Chen
Director-General Chen graduated from Soochow University with a degree in law. After he joined the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 1972, he has served around the world in Panama, New Zealand, Washington D.C., and as the Deputy Representative of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Representative Office in India. Before coming to Houston in March 2008, he was the Deputy Director-General of General Affairs for Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Director-General Chen has been working tirelessly to serve the interests of Taiwanese citizens living and traveling in the area and to provide consular service to those in need. As we all can see, Director-General Chen has admirably dedicated his entire career to public service for his country and maintains an impressive track record of promoting exchange and cooperation in trade and investment, science and technology, culture, education and tourism between Taiwan and the southern United States.
